Birds of Fether Stick Together

Friday, January 1, 2010

Many of you might already be familiar with fashion designer Erin Fetherston due to her Target Holiday 2007 collection. Or perhaps you follow her creations on runways and fashion idols such as Zooey Deschannel or Kirsten Dunst. Regardless, I find her style very appealing. Her feminine silhouettes, soft fabrics and airy designs appeal to the romantic in me. And quite frankly, there is a lot of romantic in me. While looking through her website, I found her video projects to be most interesting. This propelled a more in depth search for other video projects. Below are a few of my favorites including one of her more famous productions, Wendybird.

September is such a beautiful month. So many things happen: Autumn begins, my Dad & Brother grow a year older, a plethora of friends grow one year older as well, the weather begins to change, warmer, cozier fabrics begin to flood clothing stores and closets, hot tea begins to sound comforting once again, and darker colors gain a more alluring luminosity. So in respects to the beautiful month of September, I would love to share with you some things that are making me really happy at the moment (besides the obvious fact that it's September, of course).
  • Today I found a couple leaves that had fallen from the trees in my front and backyard. I picked the one in the picture above and relished one of the first signs of Autumn.

  • The simplicity of this drawing. It would make for a beautiful tattoo.

  • My anthropology professor who I respect deeply for his immense knowledge & light sense of humor.

  • The fact that my hair is noticeably longer.

  • The beautiful new Fall arrivals at Ruche.com & the gorgeous model who sports them so well.

  • The prospective news that I might be opening my own Etsy shop soon.

  • September skies & this beautiful poetry/photo blog.

Twenty One

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

Today was an extremely good day shopping wise. As I already ranted about in Three-Six-Five, I went to a nearby mall and discovered that they had vastly expanded the existing Forever 21 store. Here are some of the items that are now nicely hung in my closet.

I've been coveting a bow like this for some time now. I was so happy when I saw it today.

I also received the three items I ordered from Urban Outfitters.com today. Although the dress is a small, it's still a bit loose (I was expecting it after reading the reviews) but it's nothing a belt & thread and needle can't fix.

The sunglasses and blue earrings are from F21, the lomography film and the readers are from UO.

P.S. How I wish I had a real Polaroid.
P.P.S. I'm debating whether or not I should change my blog name. I really like the color powder blue & I think that would make for a better Blog title.
