The City

Here's a little secret: San Francisco is my default city on Yahoo Weather and I don't even live there. Not yet, at least (crosses fingers).
This weekend I took a trip to the beautiful city to photograph my friend, Eileen. I also rode BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit, for those who aren't familiar with it) for the first time and it was amazing. My other friend who, like me, is not a city girl, accompanied us. It was rather comical because Alma and I stuck out like sore thumbs with all the cameras and "oohs and aahs" and excited glances. But most apparent was the terrible balance we had while riding the buses. Our feet could not stay firmly planted on the ground whereas other people stood stiff as sticks as the bus gyrated sharply from destination to destination.
To be honest, I think that if I ever have the opportunity to move to San Francisco I will always have some tourist-like attitude about it. I've been to San Francisco a handful of times and for some reason I can't outgrow the love at first sight feeling.

The following pictures are a series of film photographs taken with my Minolta x-700. I've been losing my touch with digital and to be completely honest, I don't mind at all.

Baby Alexia

Baby Alexia is three months old. She is sweet and delicate and likes to listen to keys jingle.
She will never see her father.
He was killed before she was born.

Today I had the pleasure of photographing her. I may not see her again but I hope she grows up healthy and happy and never, ever short of love.

The Ballerina & the Gentleman

In the midst of the woods there lived a little ballerina. She dreamed among the trees and caught light with her grace.

Not very far away, there was a gentleman who wanted nothing more than to grace the world with his style. He dreamed of lighted runways and a special place in the world.

Halloween Treats!

The agenda for today was off and spiraling quicker then I could say abra kadabra! I woke up and went straight to the making, baking and decorating of chocolate cupcakes. After I got ready, I took a trip with a friend to a forested area and we had a magical photo shoot. The rest of the day was spent with plenty of tricks, treats, and sugar.
I'll be sharing the photographs from the shoot later but for now here is a little preview of the set I took of Ellie:
